Job Description

Provide 24x7x365 DBA support

  • To be a point of escalation for all Tier 1’s in the team
  • Responsible for database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies
  • with all releases of SQL Server in a 24x7x365 production environment
  • Understand the functionality and capabilities available in SN to help you to do your job more efficiently
  • Make sure that all ticket related activities are performed through SN
  • Review the “category" on incidents and service requests to ensure they are accurate
  • To make sure that all MTTS (Mean Time To Start) and MTTR (Mean Time To Resolve) targets are met for tickets that have been assigned to you.
  • To make sure that all tickets are updated at regular intervals based on priority
  • Check to see if the SRQ’s have the proposed start date and required completed time filled. If not get it form the customer or if the customer does not provide then have the same filled in by the shift lead
  • Ensure that all long running tickets have a plan laid down in the ticket and that step by step update is provided to the customer
  • Open a SR in case of any issue needs to be escalated to oracle
  • To assist organization in achieve 25% of FCR of the overall ticket volume
  • To work closely with the Shift Leads/Manager ensuring tickets are assigned appropriately & responded to within SLA’s
  • To monitor customer production/development environments using various monitoring tools.
  • Make sure that all tickets are transferred back to the queue along with appropriate updates mentioned within.
  • Create one knowledge base document a month and have the same reviewed by the shift lead/tier 3
  • Have complete working knowledge of DBCHK ensure that the same is used while working on incidents. Suggest an additional query to add to DBCHK each month.
  • In case there is any issue or understanding gap while performing a task then the immediate manager / tier 3 should be consulted with
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and be able to participate in the knowledge transfer to other team members
  • Must be able to work independently during heavy workload 
  • Control and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security and follow security standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to write code – HTML & CSS (SCSS flavor of SASS preferred when writing CSS)
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, bonus points for familiarity with Sketch (Sketch is our preferred concepting)
  • Cross-browser and platform testing as standard practice
  • Experience using Invision a plus
  • Experience in video production a plus or, at a minimum, a willingness to learn

Education + Experience

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in graphic and web design
  • 3 or more years of professional design experience
  • Direct response email experience
  • Ecommerce website design experience
  • Familiarity with mobile and web apps preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, most notably a demonstrated ability to solicit and address creative and design feedback
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
